What is nitrous oxide?

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a gas commonly used to help our patients feel more comfortable and relaxed during treatment. A mild sedative gas, nitrous oxide is inhaled through a comfortable nose mask during your appointment to relieve dental anxiety and fear. Within just a few minutes, you will feel more relaxed and calm. Nitrous oxide often produces a pleasant, euphoric, or even floating sensation. This is a wonderful practice that not only shows clinical excellence, but is also very compassionate to those of us with high dental anxiety. I’ve had 2 crowns and multiple cavities, but i still continue to be brave and make my appointments because they really make the experience less frightening.
